the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)
cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Tides in the Sea of Okhotsk
Eight major tidal constituents in the Sea of Okhotsk have been investigated using a numerical solution of tidal equations on a 59 space grid. The tides are dominated by the diurnal constituents. Diurnal tidal currents are enhanced in Shelikhov Bay and Penzhinskaya Guba, at Kashevarov Bank, in proximity to the Kuril Islands and at a few smaller locations. The major energy sink for diurnal tides ...
متن کاملRecent Studies of the Sea of Okhotsk
We recently have had a Japan-Russia-United States International Joint Project, 1997-2002. In this project, we have carried out intensive oceanographic observations in the almost entire Sea of Okhotsk for the first time, using a Russian research vessel; we have had four times cruises, changing seasons. This report summarizes several new findings for the Sea of Okhotsk which were obtained by this...
متن کاملRetrieval of sea-ice thickness distribution in the Sea of Okhotsk from ALOS/PALSAR backscatter data
Although satellite data are useful for obtaining ice-thickness distribution for perennial sea ice or in stable thin-sea-ice areas, they are still largely an unresolved issue for the seasonal ice zone (SIZ). We address this problem using L-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR). In the SIZ, ice-thickness growth is closely related to deformation, so surface roughness is expected to correlate with ic...
متن کاملReconstruction of Oceanographic Changes Based on the Diatom Records of the Central Okhotsk Sea over the last 500000 Years
This study provides insight into changes in sea ice conditions and the oceanographic environment over the past 500 kyr through analysis of the diatom record. Based on the relative abundance of 13 diatoms species in piston core MD012414, four types of environmental conditions in the central Okhotsk Sea over the last 330 ka BP have been distinguished: (1) open-ocean alternating with seasonal sea-...
